Students at St Joseph’s have the opportunity to be involved in a broad range of community activities throughout the year and have a very special relationship with the residents of the local aged care facility who they regularly visit throughout the year.
The school also takes great pride in its fundraising ventures with the St Vincent de Paul Society, Caritas Australia, Catholic Mission and other relief agencies as required. The school supports all local endeavours and initiatives wherever possible to ensure students develop a sense of responsibility for and participation in social justice actions.
Aiming to provide a diversified range of opportunities for the students to develop their sporting and cultural abilities, both within and beyond the local school environment, St Joseph's has a sports program that utilises the considerable talents of the parent body and the sporting facilities of the town, which the local council generously makes available to the school.
In addition to the school music program, St Joseph'sÌýhas been able to offer individual music tuition and has been developing a full school choir in the past twelve months.
As a Catholic school, students and staff of St Joseph's enjoy strong links with the local Parish community and endeavour to keep strengthening these links with meaningful liturgies, a strong sense of prayer, symbolism and ritual. The school also provides weekly or fortnightly opportunities for liturgical celebrations and Masses are provided for the school and Parish community once a month.
