Update – August 2023

Thank you for having your say – Trinity Catholic College

Thank you to those who provided feedback about our new name during the additional 30-day public consultation period.

We are pleased to confirm that St Pius X High School, Adamstown will become Trinity Catholic College from the commencement of the 2025 school year.

The name Trinity Catholic College is a powerful reminder that we believe in one God, who eternally exists as three distinct Persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Planning for the new name and further updates to our school community will continue through to 2025.

Update – June 2023

Earlier this year we asked the St Pius X High School, Adamstown school community to have its say about a new name for the school and we thank everyone who contributed to the discussion, shared their views on the names proposed and offered alternatives.

Following input from the school and wider community, we are pleased to announce the Trustees of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle have resolved the school name be changed to Trinity Catholic College. Subsequent to a 30-day public exhibition period, the name is intended to change from the commencement of the 2025 school year.

Before final regulatory confirmation of Trinity Catholic College, we invite comment and feedback to be sent to consultation@mn.catholic.edu.au prior to 21 July.

Update – February 2023

During the consultation process regarding the 7 to 12 secondary changes, feedback from the St Pius X Adamstown staff and family communities noted the absence of a strong Catholic charism for the school. One of the key recommendations from the transitioning to Years 7 to 12 work is, “In the absence of a unique charism, it is recommended that St Pius X discern the potential of a new charism and cultural identity.”

With the addition of Year 11 and 12, comes the opportunity to review and renew the school’s name. We now want to explore name options to enhance the spiritual formation of students and embrace a new spiritual charism and educational identity for the school.

To ensure input from different stakeholder groups a consultation process was held from 14 February to 24 March 2023.
